My favorite Skinny Margarita Recipe is really very simple to throw together on a whim. All you need are a few ingredients and then you can sit back to enjoy your cocktail.
First of all, I just want to say that I definitely don’t like those margarita mixes sold at the grocery store. Please read those labels……Those mixers are full of high fructose corn syrup (or worse yet – sugar substitutes!!!) and are so bad for you. You should not make margaritas with any of these pre-made mixes unless they are all natural. There are some on the market that are made with real sugar and these could be an option if you prefer a sweeter drink.
My version of the skinny margarita is slightly tart and very refreshing and completely homemade, just how I like it.
Here’s my simple go-to recipe:
- 1 1/2 oz. Tres Agaves Silver Tequila (or any good quality silver tequila)
- 1/2 oz. Cointreau
- 1 oz. Key Lime Juice (bottled)
- Ice Cubes
Place all ingredients into a shake cup and shake well. Pour into your glass and enjoy.
Makes 1 serving.
